After years of dreaming and planning, we retired from our jobs in California, sold our home in the foothills, and moved to Sucre, Bolivia, in October of 2007. Here we plan to stay for seven months, studying Spanish and traveling at intervals throughout the country. After that we plan to return for two months to visit family and friends, then back to Bolivia, and so on, for how long, we don't yet know. "The time had come...we went!"

ooooooh---I get to be the first to leave a post! Great pictures. Suddenly overcome with the travel bug! As one who has never attempted to set up a blog, I am impressed as well. Thanks for the opportunity to do virtual travel to Bolivia. Buenos Noches--off to bed I go. Cathy

Thanks for the travelogue. The photos are great! You all look so well.
Ray, are you finding the dialect much different than taught in the California schools? It appears to be a beautiful city; Santa Barbara is much like Sucre, but might be called the "Pink City." ¡Adios, amigos!
